Self-Confidence: Courage To Follow Your Heart and Intuition

Self-confidence defines courage, and courage gives us the self-esteem to carry forward in our lives doing what we desire.

“We’re here to put a dent in the universe. Have the courage to follow your heart and intuition. They somehow already know what you truly want to become. Death is very likely the single best invention of Life. It is Life’s change agent. It clears out the old to make way for the new. Remembering that you are going to die, is the best way I know, to avoid the trap of thinking you have something to lose. Your time is limited, so don’t waste it living someone else’s life.” ~ Steve Jobs

Low self-confidence makes it difficult to allow ourselves to listen to our intuition. Most of us lack the self-confidence to let life unfold the way it should, relying on our “gut” to lead us in the direction we were born to walk. We get so caught in the need for control of our lives and worry about what others think that we forget to grow with the sole goal of happiness. Most of us attach our self-confidence to how others see us and it only runs at peak performance with positive reinforcement from their opinions.

“Letting go” and flowing with the cycle of life, means accepting the challenges that come before us and accepting all outcomes as “meant to be.” That is scary so we look for miracles, luck, synchronicity or coincidences to make sense of it all and keep the control. We believe that if there is a reason for what happens to us, it will justify whom we are to others. As we develop a secure sense of self-confidence, we realize that synchronicity is intuition is sheep’s clothing. It is the knock on the door we do not hear and then open the door to find exactly what we hoped for. It is not believing a higher power controls our journey but we control the higher power so therefore everything we hoped for are coincidental or a “strokes of luck.”

Let’s look at an example:

You say to yourself, “I will find the perfect dining room table.” Then a few weeks later, you are casually looking through a magazine at the hair dressers and you suddenly see the perfect table you have dreamed of on sale at a local store. Wow, it just fell in your lap. You just can’t believe your luck. But was it luck or meant to happen? We want to hold on to the belief that we had discovered the perfect table on our own – we controlled the outcome. Synchronicity is your intuition leading you to find the right dining room table amongst all the dining room tables that have past by your sight. When you state what you want in this life of yours and not what you want because someone says you should have it or you think it would be nice to have what others have, the universe has a way of making sure you attract what you manifest. Self-confidence in knowing that every decision was made for a reason and the outcome or result was exactly as it was meant to be allows us to live the life we were born to live, not the life others choose for us. Self-confidence allows us to embrace and celebrate synchronicity, living a relatively stress free life of love and joy.

Life is not a dress rehearsal, we have one chance to attain all we are meant to achieve while in our physical form. Don’t waste this life. Live it authentically and believe in your intuition. Have faith that your ‘gut’ instinct and it will always lead you in the right direction. As Steve Jobs said,Your time is limited, so don’t waste it living someone else’s life.
